Bee My Friend - Book Talk mat
Here is a book talk mat with activities for the story “Bee My Friend."
It is perfect for using in class with learners or to send home as a home learning activity grid for families to explore this text.
It would also be perfect to use when celebrating and learning about Earth Day or as part of a minibeast topic. There are a range of literacy, art, STEM and research tasks included related to the topic of bees.

Here is a book talk mat with activities for the story “Fantastically Great Women Who Saved the Planet” by Kate Pankhurst. The book shares the stories of amazing women who have spent their lives protecting the Earth and all living things . The book if full of beautifully illustrated stories of brave, clever and strong women.
This set has 4 activity mats included. The first mat is full of general activities that you could use in lessons to explore the book as a whole. The second, third and fourth pages are full of activities which are specific to each individual fantastic woman.
This activity mat would be perfect to explore during Earth Day, as part of a sustainability or environmental education topic or during Women’s History Month in March.
The activity mats have some lovely activities to explore these amazing stories with children. There is a range of literacy, art, STEM and research tasks included.
All About Bees! - Scavenger Hunt
This engaging and interactive lesson encourages children to read for information and take notes all about bees!
There are 26 mini fact cards which share information about the appearance of bees, their habitat, diet and fun facts. There is also a note taking page for the children to record the facts in their own words.
This resource can be used as a scavenger hunt style activity outdoors (or indoors!) for children to hunt, find and gather information, or as a group reading activity in class. It would be a perfect activity for World Bee Day on 20th May!
Tip: Print each of the different categories onto different coloured paper to help children find each fact category and make sure they don’t miss any out!

There are 3 versions of the booklet included - 2 to a page, a single sided version and a double sided version - which once stapled together are great independent or paired research booklets.
